Keep up with my travels and the people I come across this winter

Nasty rocks at low tide
13-07-13

Nice reflections waiting for my flight.
16-05-13
Best looking plane ever built.
16-05-13
I biked up the west side and took a tour of the USS Intrepid. Super interesting to see all the old war machines.
15-05-13
Just cruising the city on my bike and coming across special light. Love it.
15-05-13
Fire fighters on the way to or from. They hold a special status here after what happened to the twin towers. New one nearly finished in the background.
15-05-13
Coffee beans for days.

14-05-13
I have 3 days in New York on the way home. This is a city I really love and sorta plan on visiting every year.
I flew through the night from Portland and arrived at 05.30. I dropped my bags quick at the hotel and started walking. This old dude was playing in Union Square and is called Julbia Logan. I gave him some money and shot some pic's.
14-05-13
He had lots of stories to tell but his speech was very slurred so I didnt really understand much. I think more than anything he was stoked to have someone to talk too. Big city full of lonely people.
14-05-13
Eva from Moscow. She posed with a drink, I asked her to but it down and then she didnt know what to do with her hands. I was so happy.
14-05-13
Monday nights at the Union Pool.
14-05-13
Its a mans world, in there anyway.
12-05-13
Super Park 17 finished and we drove down to Portland to all fly our separate ways.
This guy in front of me had the bad luck to hit a deer. Sad for the deer and lucky for me as I had sorta wanted to overtake this guy but decided to chill.
12-05-13
I had a day to spare so I checked out the Burnside bridge skate park.
12-05-13
There were only a few people skating but it was cool to see the place for real.
12-05-13
Portland seems like a really nice place, will have to discover it better sometime.
11-05-13
Last day of Super Park. Lots of stinky boots and tired riders.
11-05-13
The Volcom Van has been personalised by everyone thats ever ridden in it.
11-05-13
Torgeir Bergrem did some jump laps with Nitro TM Knut in tow.

11-05-13
Nils Arvidsson dislocated his elbow the day before this.
11-05-13
Frank Knab and Ruiki Masuda chilling.
09-05-13
The step up jump was maybe the best feature and saw heavy session each day. Was sorta tough to shoot well, but the rider loved it.
09-05-13
Off the balcony at jake Prices house. The whole Volcom team was staying here, about 15 heads I guess. Was an awesome time though, thanks Jake!
09-05-13
Looks like this guy is about to eat it but he is actually still going up and just about to go into the second flip.
09-05-13
Pirmin showing off his tree climbing skills.
09-05-13
Colourful character.
09-05-13
Thats Mt Bachelor, where we've been riding every day. The weather has been super warm and sunny in the morning and thunder storms each afternoon.
07-05-13
Super Park 17 is on at Mt Bachelor this week. Markus testing one of the jumps.
07-05-13
Desiree Melancon was trying to get this jump transfer to bank thingy. She's rippin.
07-05-13
The drive up from Portland goes right by Mt Hood.
07-05-13
Nils Arvidsson one of the hips a go.
07-05-13
Parking lot mayhem.
05-05-13
A few enjoyable days at home and I was off to the US again.
My flight with Swiss to Chicago was good but once there things started to go wrong.
At passport control the guy was asking some strange questions then I had to go to this room while they checked my passport again. They kept me there for 3 hours, no-one said anything or asked me questions. Then a guy came out, gave me my passport and told me I was free to go. I asked what the deal was but he didnt give me any answers.
So all that meant I had missed the last flight to Portland, where I had a hotel booked and had to book another room in Chicago. The next morning United told me I couldnt fly until 21.55 that evening.
05-05-13
So I decided to go and see the city. I have flown through Chicago O'Hare on many occasions but never been into the city. I took the train in the centre, then rented a bike and spent about 6 hours biking all around the place. Its a really nice city, good looking, active people too.
05-05-13
I rode along the shore for a few miles to get this view.
05-05-13
Lots of hi-rise buildings here.
05-05-13
And some older ones
30-04-13
Its been really nice being back home in Zurich. I got to cruise round at night on my bike and shoot something other than snowboarding.
I snapped this picture really quick on my out of a concert, this very striking girl is called Anna and she made my night.
30-04-13
This girl is called Sara and according to her she is very un-photogenic. I think differently. She's got attitude
30-04-13
These two beauties are my very good friends Oli and Tito. The brother/sister pair that run my favourite Cafè in Zurich, Henrici.
27-04-13
Friday night I was back in Zurich and went to see the awesome Zurich band Zigitros. They have been recording some new tracks in New York and this was thier Ep release.

27-04-13
They play a lot of instruments
27-04-13
She doesnt seem to be enjoying the gig.
26-04-13
The plans we had in place to drive up to Norway for a month of park shoots ended up being canceled due to a huge amount of rain washing the snow away. So we ended up going back to Kitzsteinhorn! 3rd time in a month. It was the Onboard Send-off Session. Here Marc Swoboda poking out a nice Method on the big hip.

The plans we had in place to drive up to Norway for a month of park shoots ended up being canceled due to a huge amount of rain washing the snow away. So we ended up going back to Kitzsteinhorn! 3rd time in a month. It was the Onboard Send-off Session.
I took my heli and spent most of the week shooting with it. Was really good to finally get a chance to use it extensively and I got the shots that I have been after. Here all the boys chilling at the pool after shredding.
26-04-13
Mitja Kodric a rider from Slovenia was riding well all week. Sami Finlandia sitting on the table shooting up.
26-04-13
Birdy ll. Tom Elliott having a gander. Tom actually turned out to be a good camera-man and we flew a couple of sessions together and got some rad film shots. We also had a little crash resulting in some broken propellers and bent arms but it was good to see my construction holding up and after a few minutes we were flying again.
26-04-13
Steve Krijbolder with a nice re-entry on the wall ride
18-04-13
Scene at the bottom of the Kitzsteinhorn pipe. Martin on the sled, Alli talking to Mä and Longo taking a seat.

Alli doing his thing.
18-04-13
Beckna capturing Mä and Longo
18-04-13
Alli about to shape the pipe.
18-04-13
The last shot in the bag and the boys are happy. Arthur Longo, Markus Keller and Olivier Gittler.
16-04-13
Oli Gittler slashing it up on his Slash Snowboard.
16-04-13
Right after the last session ended and Alli was about to move in and shape the pipe Olivier rode up and presented Alli with his board including bindings!! Oli was super stoked with the weeks shooting and how much effort the Kitzsteinhorn crew put into making our trip there as good as possible. A really nice gesture and Alli was actually speechless for a few minutes.
16-04-13
In the afternoons the lefthand wall got really soft so we had to do a little hand shaping.
16-04-13
Longo with a switch backside allyoop rodeo.
16-04-13
Alli Zehetner about to move in and get the pipe back in shape.
14-04-13
After a couple of days in Zurich Marcus and I drove back to Kitzsteinhorn for round 2.
14-04-13
Lots of luggage and equipment, happy they came and picked us up with a ratrack
14-04-13
Arthur Longo getting his boots on for the ride down to the hotel.
14-04-13
Nice spot to enjoy the last rays of the day.
14-04-13
A sunset beer is the best.
14-04-13
Markus brushing his teeth while watching the peaks catch their last light for the day.
12-04-13

15-04-13
Vans TM, Zillertal legend and good mate Beckna was joined us to shoot some pic's and shred the pipe.
15-04-13
Packing up for a couple of days at home. Fiat hooked us up with their new model the Freemont. We promptly wrapped it up in CHAMäLEON art work.
15-04-13
CHAMäLEON media crew waits for the sun to pop again.
08-04-13
Another day another beautiful sunrise at Kitzsteinhorn. Pirmin capturing some rays.
08-04-13
Mä in the middle of his morning stretching routine.
08-04-13
Arthur Longo leaves a message on Mä's board.
08-04-13
The crew waiting for the light to get good. Ha.

08-04-13
Peaks peakspeaks.
08-04-13
The outlook on life and this world we live in for sure feels better when you wake up early and see this.
07-4-13
The CHAMäLEON film crew are now for a few days in a ski area in Austria called Kitzsteinhorn. They have here one of the best half pipes and we have it exclusive for a few days. Red Bull loaned us their helicopter also. Riders on this shoot are, Markus Keller, Arthur Longo and Olivier Gittler.
07-4-13
We had pretty good luck with the weather on the first morning. Snow was really slow though so the riders struggled a but with speed.
07-4-13
The golden few minutes when every photographer wants to be shooting.
07-4-13
We were up at the pipe before sunrise. The shaper crew here in Kitzsteinhorn have helped out so much, from cutting the pipe to perfection, to lapping the riders with skidoo's.
07-4-13
05.30 and catching the bus to work.
03-04-13
We had a couple of days in Salt Lake City before flying home so we caught a Utah Jazz basketball game.
03-04-13
Not the cheapest form of entertainment.
03-04-13
But it was fun and Utah won
03-04-13
Next generation fan getting introduced.
03-04-13
We were able to stay with Torah, Benny and Obi Bright.
Here Obi has just had a bath is is getting dried off.
03-04-13
On our last night Benny put on a rad bbq for us all. Thanks so much mate.
02-04-13
Wyoming, forever west, including bullet holes.
02-04-13
Sweet little house on the prairie.
02-04-13
reflections?recollections.
02-04-13
Analog Clemens getting the shot, his hair trying to escape.
01-04-13
A long drive from Canada down to Salt Lake City with a quick stop in Jackson to drop of our sleds and trailer at our good friend Justin's place.
The roads in the US are long, wide and straight so Mä decided to let the truck find its own way for a while. Clemens was scared.
01-04-13
See what I mean, long, wide and straight.
01-04-13
Clemens trying to figure out way dogs like to have their heads out the window.
01-04-13
Random walker in Spokane.
31-03-13
As the temps warmed up so fast we had nothing else to do than leave and head back down south.
We took a different route which added a couple of hours to the trip but we saw some spectacular scenery.
31-03-13
This was the longest train I have ever seen. About 10 times the length you see here.
31-03-13
We passed through my city, quite a nice place.
30-03-13
Elias in the middle of a run.
30-03-13
Markus exiting a drop
30-03-13
Big full moon arising on out way out of the backcountry
30-03-13
The final supper. Temps rose during the day to the point that we decided to pack up and leave. It being out last night we all went down to Whistler and had a Sushi feast.
30-03-13
Thanks Elias! He won the credit card roulette and walked away with the first prize, the dinner bill.
29-03-13
Markus throwing down a sweet bs540 on a jump we just sorta came across. Nice zone out here.
29-03-13
Elias taking a first run of the day warm up. Looks fun right?
29-03-13
This is just the run-out of the cliff Bjorn Lienes was doing.
29-03-13
This little spot I shot last season with Seth Huot. This yeah it looked different and we managed to shoot two really cool things in there.
29-03-13
Elias Elhardt, ollie too tranny finder.
28-03-13
High above the valley heading to our sunset shoot spot.
28-03-13
Melting snow ghosts.
28-03-13
Pirmin and Clemens lined up for some action. Clemens had just dislocated his shoulder for the 3rd time in as many days. This was his last shoot on our trip to BC.
28-03-13
Big moon watching our sunset session.
26-03-13
Rock, Paper, Scissors. Elias is already out and its down to Markus and Bjorn to see who will hit the jump first. Markus won.
26-03-13
A quick shape of the lip. We'd built this jump the day before, spending about 2 hours on it.
26-03-13
I give my lens a clean up before the session starts. As I'm shooting into the sun that especially important
26-03-13
As you can see the landing avalanched. Big disappointment for us all. A lot of time and effort had gone into this one and also the one above. Two perfect landings in a row. We hit the higher kicker the next day and it slid too, double bummer.
26-03-13
Markus and Bjorn about to drop in on the last hit of the day. Gotta love the sunset light in BC.
26-03-13
Snow ghosts and wind chimes.
26-03-13
Spent a lot of time looking at sunrises and sunsets around this lake, doesnt seem to get old.
26-03-13
Bjorn with a little fs180 into the pocket.
26-03-13
We called this spot "the Island"
26-03-13
Mountains for ever.
25-03-13
Pre sunrise in BC.
25-03-13
With Skidoo access we have the possibility to find great terrain and get there quickly. It always amazes me how much ground we cover on these things. Hard work but also good fun. Bjorn Lienes.
25-03-13
Big hill, small Markus.
25-03-13
Up with the snow ghosts.
25-03-13
Mini Markus down checking the snow.
24-03-13
Sorry for the lack of pictures lately. We have been off the grid for a week. We found a cabin perched on a shores of a frozen lake about 40km sled ride from civilisation and decided to base ourselves there for a few days. It meant lugging in petrol for the sleds, food, a generator, sleeping bags etc but it was a fun few days.
24-03-13
On arrival we had to climb up on the roof and dig out the chimney before we could start warming the cabin up.
24-03-13
Our home away from home away from home.
24-03-13
The advantage of staying up here is we get to shoot till its dark and see some beautiful sunsets and sunrises.
24-03-13
We had to go and find wood for the fire and then cut it up. We didnt take any gas with us so all our cooking was done on the wood stove, also our water we got by melting snow.
24-03-13
It was so nice to be away and fending for ourselves.
14-03-13
It suddenly got very warm in Jackson so we packed our stuff, tied down all the sleds securely and headed north.
14-03-13
Somewhere a few hours into the trip we came across this old beast. Old school bus.
14-03-13
Our rig is not that huge but with all our gear we are shifting quite some weight. On average our truck is using 23 litres of diesel for every 100km driven. Thats 4 times more than my car at home.
14-03-13
The trip took 20 hours, 4 gas stops, litres of coffee, a few kg's of crap food and many awesome sights.
14-03-13
The roads are mainly straight and in good condition. One thing thats way better than Europe is the radio stations. You can find always a good one for driving.
14-03-13
Trucks everywhere.
12-03-13
We found some nice pillows and powder and had a fun session. Guch showing how its done.
12-03-13
Markus got a really nice line in the end of the day. Ollie to pillow to finish off.
12-03-13
Guch taking a break between runs. While snaking he's always scanning the face, looking for possible lines and things to hit off.
12-03-13
BJ Leines finishing a line. So nice to watch this legend ride, such good style. When he's strapping in for a run he's just whistling and saying things like "let the good times roll". He's been at the top of the game for over 15 years and still loves to snowboard like no-one else I know, its not a job for BJ, its a passion and his life. The industry needs to look after guys like him as he's the past, the present and the future. Anyone who see's him ride wants to snowboard, easy as that.
10-03-13
It got very warm suddenly where we are based so we were forced to look further afield. That meant a 4.30 wake-up followed by a 2.5 hour drive. Nice sunset at the trail-head made it worthwhile.
10-03-13
This is a spot Guch has been going too for a couple decades nearly, he's taken me there 4 times now and we've got nice shots every time. Thanks again mate.
10-03-13
Markus warming up old smokey.
10-03-13
Pirmin unloading his brand new whip, ciggi and all.
10-03-13
Sippin Jet-streams
08-03-12
Bad weather day and we all needed a sleep-in and a day-off. In the afternoon we cruised up to Jackson town and had our first good coffee since our arrival in Wyoming. I love it here but on most restaurants "coffee" is just brown water.
08-03-12
A little dusting on the trees.
08-03-12
The back alleys of Jackson.
06-03-13
Keller's got the hang of the sledding thing.
06-03-13
Seth Huot dropping into the face.
06-03-13
The Guch popping mid-line.
06-03-13
Martin learning the carve.
04-03-13
We've been out in the Wyoming backcountry the last days. The snow pack is perfect so we've been shooting a bunch and also spent some time discovering new terrain.
04-03-13
Markus getting picked up for another run.
04-03-13
We have to cross a river to get out there and it was pretty intimidating for the sled rookie Clemens. He was pumped after he got through it unscathed.
04-03-13
Pirmin ripping it through the deep part.
01-03-13
We all flew from Zurich to Los Angles and then on too Salt Lake City. We're over here for a month now. The first 2 weeks we're going to be up on Wyoming.
01-03-13
In Salt Lake City we rented a big truck, loaded all our bags and set of north to Jackson Hole. Its about a 4 hour drive.
01-03-13
On arrival we went straight to my friend Justin's shop and paid for 3 new sleds and a new trailer. I'd ordered them in advance and Justin had them all ready to go for us. Keller signing the contract and Justin counting cash.
01-03-13
Markus got one of the 2013 Polaris's. I'd never riden that model but after trying it out I kinda like it now.
01-03-13
This is our set-up for the next month. We'll end up selling it all after the season is finished. Pretty big investment but way cheaper and easier than renting for a month.
25-02-13
After some days in Zurich spent organizing our next trips I headed back to Arlberg for a couple of days shooting with the crew.
It was after sunset by the time we started down the mountain.
25-02-13
Pirmin's got steez
15-02-13
Nils Arvidsson sending it in the Arlberg backcountry.
Amazing weather and perfect landing make for smiles all round

15-02-13
Mä and Nils bootpacking.
15-02-13
This view never gets old.
15-02-13
LIttle prep work in-between jumps.
14-02-13
At "home" in the lovely Arlberg. The mountains here are impressive, there's often a moment when you have to just take a break and look out.
14-02-13
Nils Arvidsson waving goodbye before taking off.
14-02-13
We stayed up to shoot sunset and had a dark ride down.
10-02-13
We had a few days break after getting home form Japan. Now we're in Arlberg for a couple of weeks. The mountains here are impressive to say the least.
10-02-13
Markus flew by in a cloud of dust.
10-02-13
Nils Arvidsson checking his shot.
10-02-13
End of day picnic.
09-02-13
I was invited up to the Dolder Hotel in Zuich the other night to shoot some pic's at the launch for the new Maserati.
Fancy event with some serious fat wallets walking around.
09-02-13
Not a bad looking whip.
09-02-13
Christine Zoller is a Opera singer from Germany, she put on a good performance despite some microphone issues.
09-02-13
Old classic to the right, new classic to the left(girl with iPhone)
09-02-13
Christine during make-up.
09-02-13
Sneak peak. This was actually a practise run the team did before the crowd of 300 arrived.
07-02-13
Our last day in Tokyo. One train stop from Shibuya is Harajuku, a cool upmarket neighbourhood. I'd seen this entrance the day before but wanted to come back with a real camera and get a better shot.
07-02-13
Looking down the hold-hold tunnel.
07-02-13
Clemens, sample version 2.0
07-02-13
Sierra Quitiquit is the International face of American Eagle, thats her on the right. I met her in a Jackson restaurant one night 2 years ago and back then she was a ski bum. Now, she's still a ski bum but now fully sponsored and also getting flown around the world for crazy model gigs.
07-02-13
Our bird awaits. My first time on the A380 and I got to sit upstairs.
06-02-13
A half hour walk from Shibuya is a big park surrounding the Meiji Temple. Its the shrine celebrating Emperor Meiji and his wife Empress Shoken.
06-02-13
Its a popular place
06-02-13
Its was nearing dusk when we visited and the light coming through the forest was amazing.
06-02-13
You can pay a small fee and get one of these wooden tablets. People write their prayers on them and each day a few are picked at random and read by the Shinto priest
06-02-13
The main part of the shrine was destroyed by air raids during World War 2 and rebuilt again in 1956
05-02-13
Saturday night on the streets of Tokyo. There were some amazing cars cruising.
05-02-13
Shibuya crossing at midnight.
05-02-13
Clemens made our local guide pretty nervous by climbing into this pickup. He said these cars are all owned by the Yakuza.
05-02-13
This thing must really suck to drive.
04-02-13
Main sponsors for this project are Red Bull, Nitro Snowboards and Volcom.
Red Bull have been getting some of my pictures out there and as they have a pretty big social network there has been a lot of people seeing them.
04-02-13
Markus is the man in front of the camera all season. We have a great crew and we all get along well which is just as well as we'll be spending most of the next 6 months together.
04-02-13
Follow us on Instagram and see what we're up too every day.
04-02-13
Sushi restaurant in downtown Tokyo.
04-02-13
We ate some really good food during this trip. Didn't mis the heavy western food at all. There were for sure some times were we ordered stuff and were pretty surprised on what we got served.
04-02-13
At this place we didnt really expect the sushi to be good, it was right on the main road and just looked kinda sketchy. Turned out to be pretty good. Not the best we'd had but roughly twice as good as anything in Zurich and we all left with a full belly for $7 each, about 10 times less than you would pay in Zurich.
04-02-13
These got delivered while we were there. Always a good sign.
04-02-13
We happened upon a candy making shop in Harajuku. Each tiny little piece had some Japanese characters in it. Was fascinating to watch.
04-02-13
Basically the guy in white rolled the big chunk around while the girl pulled the lengths out. The guy closest to me then cut it too the right length.
03-02-13
I went for a walk through the Jojogi park thats sorta in the center of Tokyo. There were loads of eople out enjoying the warm temps on Saturday afternoon. In one part there were a couple of guys making bubbles. No idea idea if it was an organized thing but the kids were loving it! Well I was too and stood around shooting pic's for ages.
03-02-13
Doesnt matter what part of the world you are in, smiling laughing happy kids make your troubles go away.
03-02-13
Some of the kids just wanted to pop all the bubbles and some just wanted to watch the bubbles fly.
03-02-13
At the end of our trip we had 3 days in Tokyo. We all really looked forward to this as some of us had never been and those that had loved it anyway.
I booked us a hotel looking down on the Shibuya crossing, the busiest street crossing in the city.
03-02-13
Shibuya crossing. At rush hour you cant see the road for people.

02-02-13
They did a full fight scene for us and it looked pretty damn real.
02-02-13
Tetsuro does shows all round the world and knows his stuff thats for sure.
02-02-13
Keller the Killer
02-02-13
Markus got some lessons and learned some moves.
02-02-13
Flo at Red Bull Media House organized for us a special experience. We got to go visit Tetsuro Shimaguchi, he's a Samurai and did the fight scene choreography for Kill Bill. We went straight from the airport and arrived at the training studio pretty worn out, having to negotiate the Tokyo underground system at full-on rush hour.
01-02-13
Our amazing time in Niseko came to an end. Such a good trip and my expectations were more than filled even though it has been the warmest January in the last 25 years for Hokkaido.
01-02-13
We drove the rental back to Sapporo and caught the ANA flight down to Tokyo. 3 days in the big city was something we were all really looking forward too.
01-02-13
I'm guessing rice paddies? Nice scenes right before Tokyo anyway.
01-02-13
Train conductor.
31-01-13
Our last day in NIseko and it was had warmed up. We ripped up a pass hoping for some last powder but it was all mush. We got a call from Ruiki who said some friends of his had just finished building a hip.
31-01-13
When we got there Ruiki and a few locals shreds were ready to go. It was on a farm close to town so you had to get a sled tow-in. Just a little hip but fun and there was amazing light. Thanks for the fun session Rookkie
31-01-13
Keller getting a ride back up to the start.
30-01-13
The crew got a taste of authentic Japanese cuisine last night. Misaki from Niseko Tourism made reservations for us and everyone had a great time.

And the snow keeps falling
28-01-13
Fun days in the powder. Ruiki Masuda joined us today. Rad kid from the south island. Sick methods on lock.
28-01-13
Clemens got a faceful of snow thanks to Mä.

Japanese forests are triggering my imagination.
27-01-13
I love the birch tree's. I'm so used to the heavy and dense forests in Europe and North America. Here there seem so light and the way the light comes through is fresh
26-01-13
We visited the Gentemstick shop. I've been liking this company every since last season when I spent a day shredding with Pascal Pi Imhof. He was riding one of their boards and I was jealous the whole day. That thing just looked amazing to ride in the powder.
Well if they had had the one I wanted in stock I would have brought it right away.
26-01-13
We had a chat about the different aspects of shred.
26-01-13
We got a locals tip for a sushi place. We'd been disappointed a couple of times by over priced tourist traps.
26-01-13
This place was amazing!
26-01-13
We managed 31 plates between us. We were so happy we didnt even look at the prices. But in the endf it worked out to be only $20 per person. For sure going back there.
25-01-13

24-01-13
Will Jackways is a Kiwi fella that I've known for years and shot with on occasion. Rad dude with a really sick style on and off his snowboard. He's done something like 24 seasons in a row now. For the last 11 years he's been spending every January in Japan so he was the obvious choice when we were looking for a guy to team up with here.
24-01-13
Up on a pass hiking for our turns.
24-01-13
The trees here are pretty awesome to hike around in, all loaded up with snow.
24-01-13

Mt Yotei is apparently only seldom fully visable during winter. The last couple of days we've seen her and feel quite privileged. Here's 3 different takes. Taken from Niseko.

Having real good fun here in Japan. Its my first time so all the different stuff in the shop and around the house are great fun to explore. Just learning to work the appliances is testing us.
20-01-13
Great coffee system
20-01-13
Clemen's bags missed the plane somewhere along the line. So he left a note for the delivery guy. We were not sure he would understand english so we goggle-translated the english and Clemens copied the Japanese symbols. No idea if they are readable.
20-01-13
Markus got a fish to ride here. I want one too!!!
20-01-13
Eggs for breakfast
19-01-12
All settled in to our nice apartment. Thanks to Misaki and Greg for sorting it all out at very short notice.
We got our own car so we're mobile and can hit up any locations we want. Driving here is not as hard as everyone claims. Its just pretty important to get an English GPS as the Japanese one doesn't really help.
We stopped during the drive from Sapporo to Niseko to take some pictures.
19-01-12
This seems like a classic view.
19-01-12
All the roads here have these arrows above the roads. In the beginning we didnt really see the point but when the waether socked in and it was completely white-out then we quickly saw their importance.
19-01-12
There's a lot of snow here, trips gonna be a banger.
18-01-13
Time is flying. After a day at home washing, paying bills, cleaning camera gear and re-packing the bags I left for the airport again. Japan this time! I've been traveling to amazing destinations for over 10 years now and Japan has always been a place that fascinated me. Four times I have been nearly on the plane and the travel got canceled for one reason or another. This time its worked out and I'm very excited.
Unfortunately I wont really get to enjoy the snowboarding fully as my knee is still not strong enough but I'm not even to disappointed about that, there will be enough other things to do. Plus all the hiking will only help my knee in the long run.
18-01-13
Travel was Zurich > Frankfurt > Osaka > Sapporo. All the flights were not full so we got lucky with seats. Exit row for the long one which was awesome.
18-01-13

Pirmin is always good for a funny moment.
15-01-13
Our trip to Finland is over. We all fly back to our homes.
Red Bull Finland were kind enough to provide us with a van for our time there. Unfortunately there it only had 3 seats so Clemens being the youngest had to ride in the back. At -20 this was an experience he'll not forget. I took this picture half way into our 4 hour drive down to Helsinki. Nose is not blue, thats a good sign.
15-01-13
Marc Swoboda and his crew were also up there so we went by a spot they were shooting to say hi.

In Finland they have a different way of doing things. The photographer kits himself out with a winch, lighting kits etc. Then the riders are sorta forced to give him a call if they want to go and ride. The rest of the world the riders own this stuff themselves and go whenever they want and with whoever they want to shoot with.
12-01-13
Yesterday we drove 4 hours north of Helsinki. The light was behind us the whole way.
12-01-13
The sun keeps a pretty low profile this far north
12-01-13
Amazing light. We stopped at a random farm to shoot some keepers.

There's a very different feeling shooting urban here opposed to in the US. There you have the feeling you're gonna get kicked out at any time. Here the locals all seem stoked on what you're doing or at the least tolerate it. Most come up and ask what you're doing and who you're filming for and most of them know of Eero.

I'm a bit late on this one.
On the 1st January my blog clicked over the half million mark for the year 2012. Really happy that so many people are checking in to see what I'm up too day in day out.
I started this blog so my mum would know where I was and would understand why I didnt call more often. Well she still checks each day but it seems so do a fair few others. Thank you.
05-01-13
So we wrapped it up early in Minnesota. We didnt really get the shots we had oped for and decided it best to split early and spend a few extra days on the next trip.
He'res some shots of my return flight to Zurich,
05-01-13
As you know, I like the birds-eye view.
05-01-13
Shouldnt really be promoted this airline as they pretty much suck most of the time.

Urban sprawl. Live here, die here and be buried here.
03-01-13
At Bjorns place he has built a Jib Farm. Equipped with drop-in ramp, hi-speed winch and about 15 obstacles its a jibber paradise. There's a workshop right there with loads of tools, welders etc. Here's Keller getting a new rail ready.
03-01-13
Keller getting his jib on. It was cold there though, though my fingers were going to drop off.

Thanks to Bjorn and his family for letting us ride here and also for the hospitality. Bjorn is such a legend, he's shredded with every top dog our sport has ever known and he still loves snowboarding more than anyone I know.
02-01-12
Here's some random shots from the last couple of days here in Minnesota.

31-12-12
Dan Brisse finished his X-Games Real Snow part yesterday so we went out for some beers. Tim Peare was along shooting with the crew. I've admired his work for years and it was nice to finally meet him in person.
31-12-12
Clemens got some attention from a St Cloud milf. He dint show enough interest and she soon left for better hunting grounds.

Jumped on a plane and took off. Destination Minneapolis and an urban shred mission.
We got stuck in New York for 12 hours.

28-12-12
I love airports and dont mind at all having long layovers.
28-12-12
Arrival at 2.30am. All tired and bleary eyed. Instead of driving north as planed we just drove to the nearest hotel and got some shut-eye.
26-12-12
Took the heli out for a last minute test today. the city had a very empty feeling.
I'm off to the US tomorrow.

I drove up to Grindelwald for Xmas with my family. My Mum is staying up there for a while so it was lovely to spend time with her. It was her first ever winter xmas and the first time we've had xmas together for 15 years at least.

19-12-12
After a few days away we are back in the Arlberg region. It was a beautiful day today and the snow was deep. Still a little low tide but fun stuff is there to be had.
19-12-12
The mountains here are amazing, so powerful. On the right you can see 3 skiers hiking up the face.
19-12-12
Markus Keller with Stuben in the background.
13-12-12
Today was my first day up on the mountain. Its still too early for me to snowboard so I went up with my split board and hiked to the top.
13-12-12
It was a great feeling to be up there again. I was all alone as the rest of the crew had already moved on by the time I arrived(they took the chair lift up)
It was nearly better though as I got to enjoy the moment in silence.
13-12-12
I'm still using the Burton splitboard Birgit sent me 7 years ago, thanks again Birgit, I've had many many amazing hours on that thing.
As I split boarded up I also had to split board down again and this felt very dumb. I was zigzagging down through powder faces that I would have soo loved to board down at full speed. A real test of my will power. I just kept telling myself that it was all training and sometime this winter I would be shredding again.
12-12-12
Markus styling this fs invert. CHAMäLEON filmer crew in action, Pirmin up top, Clemens here in front. Silvano getting the shot of to the right,

Levi Luggen is young dude from Brig. Super nice style on a board and in life. I havent really shot with him much, I was supposed to the day I blew my knee last June. Hopefully we will make it more in the future.
12-12-12
Mä about to drop in.
12-12-12
The date today is pretty special but other than that we had a pretty normal day. The guys hit up the resort in the morning and after we went to this little spot for a fun session.
11-12-12
We headed south looking for snow and sun. It was the first trip of the winter. We stayed with photog Silvano Zeiter and he showed us round a bit.
11-12-12
It was -20 in this village when I drove through.
11-12-12
I'm still not able to snowboard, my knee still needs some time and I'm not going to risk it this early in the season. So while the rest of the crew went up the mountain I drove around and checked out the valley.
11-12-12
On the car-train about to go through a mountain.
09-12-12
I hadnt taken my heli out for a while and as I'm of on a shoot the next days I thought it was time to go out and test if she was still working.
09-12-12
I live in the house right in the middle of the picture. The 3 main houses shown here are schedules to be demolished in 2014, so this might end up being a historical picture. I love the birds eye perspective, there's so much to see. At the top you can see that the police are doing a speed control and lightning the wallets of the fast drivers. Also if you look hard you will see me down there somewhere, flying the heli.

I was pretty nervous walking up to the stage, we'd had no time to prepare and speaking in front of large groups was long my biggest nightmare.
To break the ice I asked everyone to give me a wave for a picture. It worked out well and after the first couple of sentences I was feeling much better.

Last week I had a shoot with Iouri and Audi.
We were shooting his A7 out at his skate hall. It was a long cold day but we got the shots we needed.
29-11-12
She's a nice animal
29-11-12
Towards the end Iouri wanted to get some shots of my drifting the car. There wasnt too much room in the hall so I was getting pretty close to the walls. Katja from Audi was pretty nervous but happy in the end.
29-11-12
Thanks Iouri, Bruni and Katja for making this happen.
There was 2 shots in the 20min newspaper this week and Audi will put on a big exhibition in spring.
24-11-12
I was invited to a very special place last night. IOIC MARATHON DER WEIBLICHKEIT.
They are a very passionate group of interesting individuals that gather and watch silent films from the 1920's. The films are accompanied by live orchestral or electronic music.
There's a bar, food and many beautiful people.
Go and check it out till sunday night.
http://ioic.ch
24-11-12
Of course I watched a few of the films but actually I spent most of my time floating in a bubble made by the sights and sounds around me and some maryjane.

Tina I've shot with before, she is an amazing person. If she was an animal I'm sure she would be a Jaguar. Strong graceful and beautiful.

Made a quick stop in Locano and met up with an old friend. This is Mitch Buvoli. Mitch and his two brothers, Gian Luca and Davide spent many a season living up in Laax. This was back in the day when I also lived up there. These guys together with Jamie Phillp, Alex Schauwecker and Nicolas Muller basically taught me to snowboard. I begun my career following this crew around everyday.
Since a few years Mitch has been in the gastro business with his own Grotto, now he has stepped it up and is the proud owner of Bottega del Vino a fancy wine bar and restaurant in downtown Locano.
Check his site:

23-11-12
It was a full house when I stopped by so we just had a glass of wine with Mitch, next time I want to try the food because it sure smelled amazing.
23-11-12
In the snowboard industry people come and go, its a young man's sport. Its so nice to see people leave the professional side of it and go on to find something else they are passionate about and succeed at it. And yes, he still shreds pow, for sure better than you.
22-11-12
Ylva and I worked out the transport system pretty fast
22-11-12
These two old ladies nearly got run over a few seconds after this. A young chick crossed while it was red and they followed but much slower. There was much squealing of tyres and beeping of horns.
21-11-12
I spent last weekend in Milan. We went to the Hanger Biccoca and saw the TOMÁS SARACENO ON SPACE TIME FOAM installation. Pretty awesome!

I was up in Grindelwald for a quick family visit. On the way down I decided to make a long awaited stop at the Zen Snowboards workshop close by Interlaken.
Reto Neiger is the daddy of this fine little brand.
He hand makes a select few boards per year, people who order one are welcome to go to his workshop and help out with the whole process and watch as their baby takes shape. He'll even go out riding with you and make a board that fits your riding style.
Swiss quality, attention to detail and a very passionate crew. Go check them out:

We finally got our shoot with Gabriel Medina. It was too windy all week and then the contest started and somehow it just didnt work out.
So on my last day in Hossegor it finally came together and we got a couple of hours in epic late afternoon light.
30-09-12
Medina traveled to France with his whole family, they rented a big house. Really down to earth and humble, it was nice to see.

The FMX guys had a complete new set-up this year, jumping over the snowboard ramp.
The weather on Saturday was to wet for them to ride so the Sunday schedule was adjusted to allow them some extra jumps.
23-09-12
Pat Burgener was the only Swiss guy to make it into the Sunday main event. He ended up getting 3rd place and the crowd pushed him all the way.

The Prime Tower is pretty new and may or maynot be the tallest building in Switzerland. What I do know is that you can see it from all over the city and it always presents itself in different ways.
28-08-12
Absinthe Films premiered their new movie a few nights ago at the new/old location, Kaufleuten.
The place was pumping, around 1500 people showed up to see some of the best snowboarders in the world. In attendance were among others, Nico Muller, Travis Rice, Gigi Ruf. Some dude from this small band called The Killers was apparently there too but I didn't notice him.
28-08-12
Santigold entertained the packed house with song and dance.
Shame everyone split right after the concert.
28-08-12
Meike from MBM was zippin around blinding everyone with her flash. The puppydog eyes make it easy to forgive.
28-08-12
Hey, couldn't pass this up, nice eyes!
28-08-12
Most photogenic person in attendance maybe.
28-08-12
Nicolas had a stand-out part, all filmed in Laax. There was a glitch in the film, it blacked out for a few seconds right in the middle of Nico's part. I was standing beside him and saw as he put his hands over his face in disappointment.
28-08-12
Sami from Onboard magazine was sober one minute and drunk the next. Finnish style drunk. Not since the street parade has Zurich seen something like it.
28-08-12
Camera shy. She probably has a huge nose or a beard or something.
27-08-12
Got an invite to go up and take some pictures at Open Air Oberrieden.

A kings ransom.
Yesterday was National Day in Liechtenstein. Mary, Tina and I accompanied Tito up to his Vaterland for the evening.
15-08-12
Small country, small swimming pools.
15-08-12
Liechtenstein is a very small country, needless to say that the fireworks could be seen by everyone in the country. And by people in the neighboring countries of Switzerland, Austria and Germany.
14-08-12
Went out with a friend for a few easy rounds of darts. Hot summer evenings in Zurich.
14-08-12
On my way home I came across this American dude entertaining in a tunnel. A bunch of enthusiastic people were banging a beat on the walls. What we need in Zurich is more of this!
14-08-12

27-07-12
The birds eye view is very interesting. Still in the testing phase with this project but its beginning to get interesting.
16-07-12
Last stop on the tour was at the Block in Winterthur.
16-07-12
This kid was trying this handplant for ages, didnt stick it but 10 points for effort.
16-07-12
This kid was ripping! Eyal Maman is from Thun. I asked to shoot some pic's and he was keen. 15 min later we had a few bangers, I think he stomped around 8 tricks, 6 of them 1st try.
16-07-12
Iouri was tearing the bowl apart. The bowl and mini-ramp have gotten extremely slippery in the last year, there's a lot of dust in the old building and also the fruitbooters(inline) put wax on everything. Iouri had a couple of highspeed wipeouts trying to get this shot.
16-07-12
Stuntman Timmey.
16-07-12
The light coming through the window was perfect for this shot. No flash needed.
15-07-12
Luc Kampfen came to the stop in St Gallen to shred with the boys. He was ripping.
15-07-12
The pool in St Gallen is pretty knarly. Iouri was ripping in it.
15-07-12
Monir loved this kids skateboard. Do a boardslide and it would put a line right through their eyes.
15-07-12
I drove back to Zurich after the session and went to a house party at a friends place. These two had eyes only for each other.
14-07-12
Mannequine at the Hive
14-07-12
The rest of the crew just sat back and watched Kilian skate, it was a pleasure.
13-07-12
Sarnen next, real cool little park and the best was we could park the bus right next to the bowl. Bruni whipped up a nice little bbq and some beers to wash it all down. Some of the local dudes stayed and everyone kept skating till about 11pm.
13-07-12
Timmey was a legend all trip long, always up for a session and so full of passion. Just lives to skate with friends. Was a nice chance to get to know you mate.
13-07-12
Timmey taking a moment.
13-07-12
Marco Bruni is Iouri's snowboard coach. He organized and managed this skate tour and did a damn good job of it! Always up first and working hard setting up at each spot. In Sarnen he made his famous spaghetti for lunch. Legend.
13-07-12
Timmey promised Iouri that he'd do a Melon grab per day during the tour. Here's his Sarnen edition.
13-07-12
Monir was ripping on the first day but over did it a little and tweaked his ankle. So he was just skating at 50% for the rest of the trip but still managed to get a couple of shots.
12-07-12
Onwards to Lugano. A strong crew turned up and in the 30 degree heat some rad sessions happened.
Martino is one of the dopest skaters out there, insane smooth style and just killing everything.
12-07-12
These two kids were shredding all day. Iouri spent quite some time with them and they learnt a lot and went away stoked.
12-07-12
Martino again ripping.
10-07-12
Next morning we woke up at the Lausanne Vidy Bowl. Lots of scooter mongo's in the beginning but as the day went on more skaters dropped in.
Pat Burgener and Max Buri showed up with their own style and skated for hours.
10-07-12
Timmey skeptical of the electro scooter.
That night it was back to Montreux again. This I took at about 2am.
10-07-12
Hanging on the waterfront enjoying a beer.
10-07-12
Montreux Jazz Festival.
09-07-12
So I flew from Iceland back to Zurich, had a few hours at home then it was straight off on another tour. Big contrast this one. Iceland was, camping, peace, nature, beautiful images, no schedule. This week I'm on pretty much the opposite. Iouri and the kids tour is a skate tour through Switzerland, 7 days, 7 cities all in a tourbus with friends. Iouri Podladchikov is a snowboarder, crowned World Champion this year, who has always skated at a pro level. It was his idea to do this tour and his sponsors supported him. So off we go....
09-07-12
This is our transport, accommodation, party spot and stowed underneath is everything we need to stage a happening. Tables, tents, drinks coolers, DJ booth, mobile kitchen and a supply of redbulls.
09-07-12
First stop was in Wollerau, about 300 kids turned up and everyone had a ball, after it was on the bus and a 2 hours drive down to Montreux. A few beers on the road then off the bus and straight into a Bob Dylan concert.
09-07-12
Timmey is covered in tats, talks trash, skates hard and is one of the funniest, nicest guys to be around.
09-07-12
Wollerau skatepark.
09-07-12
Monir watched by Iouri.

08-07-12
Over and out. Iceland was an amazing experience, too good to be true really.
08-07-12
Almost 4000km in our little car, one little crash and nothing but fun and amazement the whole time. Seemed like every corner we turned we entered a new world. Much thanks to Geiri for all the tips and the use of is camping gear. And to Loic for all the passion and energy. Unforgettable.
08-07-12
Waterfalls... One of my favorite things to be around. Powerful, beautiful and unstoppable. I finally had a chance to shoot some slower shutterspeeds.
08-07-12
Loic drying out after walking behind the falls.
08-07-12
We found this hidden gem.
08-07-12
4am and everyones sleeping.
07-07-12
Nature made some nice sculptures for us to admire. Just temporary ones mind. I disappeared later that day.
07-07-12
Nice view from my bed. It surprised us time and time again, the camping grounds were full, tents in rows all close together and $10 per head. Butits legal to put your tent pretty much anywhere in Iceland and we had simply amazing spots and shared with no-one, well apart from all of you:)
07-07-12
Black beach full of jewels. Sparklesparkle
07-07-12
Natural light magnified through this washed up chuck of ice.
07-07-12
Iceland.... where did that name come from. Some locals told me that the country used to be called land of the Sun. Myths and legends.
06-07-12
Finally got a chance to shoot some slow shutter shots as it was cloudy and dark one night. I never get to shoot these shots but I really like the feeling they give, mistygoast.
06-07-12
Sun came out at the right time to light this cliff face.
05-07-12
We drove up over some highlands and there were these stone piles alongside the road. We found out that they are the original road markers from back in the day.
05-07-12
Loic doing number 2's with "Circus tent" mountain in the background.
05-07-12
These flowers are called Lupin, actually not native to Iceland but really widespread and not hard on the eyes.
05-07-12
Another one of out magic camping zones. Light was unbelievable for hours, not better or worse just different.
05-07-12
Who could ask for more?
05-07-12
Loic found a boat and went for a pre-dinner row.
04-07-12
Waterfalls everywhere you look. We saw at least one every day of the trip.
04-07-12
It was pretty hard to shoot slow enough shutter speeds as it was never dark enough!
04-07-12
Nice rock formations.
04-07-12
Lots of tourists at this one, had to wait ages for them to all go and cook dinner before we had some peace and quiet.
03-07-12
Up in the north of Iceland is, we were told, where the wild ponies live.
03-07-12
We found them. So beautiful to watch how the groups work. The stallion is really taking care of business.
03-07-12
We got pretty close on a couple of occasions. I would have got more pictures but we were using some different equipment and I didnt have time to snap many shots.
03-07-12
Sleeping on her feet.
03-07-12
Came across some old viking huts. Cant imagine how hard the living must have been here a thousand years ago.
03-07-12
I'm guessing the fronts are not original
03-07-12
They were compact back then.
02-07-12
A little stop to shot a moment always turned into an extended stay as we always found more details the longer we stayed.
02-07-12
Natures brick layers
02-07-12
This wall has stood for many xxx-thousand years, try that humans.
02-07-12
Broken shells are so much more comfortable to nest in than stones.
02-07-12
As you can expect we shot a lot of sunsets. Every day around 4 hours worth.
02-07-12
Keep on truckin.
02-07-12
Calm water ducks
02-07-12
Loic time lapsed the cloud fingers in the background
02-07-12
So many special moments when you sit down and watch.
01-07-12
1st July, time wizzing by as usual. Here's some shots out the window of the car or off the road. 4 weeks before I left to Iceland I blew my knee snowboarding, ACL gone and a few other things. SO I really thought most of my trip would be spent in the car and maybe a few hobbling steps to the roadside. Stoked it wasnt like that but it would have been awesome anyway.
01-07-12
Fog coming up the valley steps.
01-07-12
Sunset on the top of a pass somewhere.
01-07-12
I like churchs, they give perspective. I never go in them but they look good in the landscape.
01-07-12
Loic left me behind.
01-07-12
Boat parking zone
30-06-12
I took this picture from our camping spot one night. The light just kept getting better and better. We didnt end up sleeping till about 5am. This was the story of our trip, sunset started around 9pm and ended around 1am, then we cooked diiner. Sunrise started at about 2am and the light was amazing till around 4-5am, then we would sleep till about noon and drive some hours stopping whenever we saw something we wanted to shoot. Actually this was our only "rule" on this trip. If either of us wanted to stop we would, regardless of if we were in a hurry to be somewhere.
30-06-12
End of the world.
30-06-12
Loic snapped this one of me on the edge of the world. Just an illusion though, the water is right under my feet just the reflection of the clouds you see.
30-06-12
Camping spot second angle, while cooking dinner at around 2am.
30-06-12
Ducks on the move.
30-06-12
Perfectly still. The wind always seemed to come up during the day and go away completely around dusk which was perfect for us. I took a new tool with me to Iceland and it worked well with no wind. More about that soon.
29-06-12
Seem to be coming across a lot of waterfalls the last days.
29-06-12
Its never dark enough to do proper long exposures of the water.
29-06-12
We hiked up to the top of a waterfall. One of the best things I have ever done. We started off just wanting to get a different angle and just kept on walking, 6 hours later we got back to the car. We followed the river all the way back to the source, way up in the snow.
29-06-12
I lay on the edge of this huge cliff for about an hour just watching the birds fly. In the end I had to say that they were just flying for fun. There were hundreds of them just catching the thermals, hardly moving and just gliding around in big circles. I had to hold myself back from trying it myself.
29-06-12
Loic filming the birds. They would fly right past you, maybe 2 meters aways and look right at you.
27-06-12
LIttle grey fishing town living in the shadow.
27-06-12
Edge of the world
26-06-12
Seagulls nesting in the cliff wall. Summer is so short here that when it finally arrives there is an explosion of live. All the animals and plants realize that they only have a short time to reproduce' its magical to witness.
26-06-12
Came to this little cove and saw how these rocks were formed I guess by volcanic movement. Special.
26-06-12
Like a wave coming from the cave down to the water.
25-06-12
A little photo stop turned into a 2 hour adventure. We tried to get out of the car and birds started attacking us. They were protecting their nests. We braved them for a while to get some shots then moved away. Here's Loic getting a close-up.
25-06-12
Coming in for attack. They are Arctic Terns I later found out.
25-06-12
I shot this with a wide-angle so this bird is maybe about 50cm from my face. Beautiful shapes. Super aggressive and fearless.
25-06-12
We havent seen much Ice yet but plenty of waterfalls, maybe they should rename it Waterfallland
25-06-12
Same waterfall, different view.
25-06-12
Loic, Lava, water
24-06-12
On the road now, glad to be away from the city. To many drunk loud people, we are enjoying the silence.
24-06-12
I am already running out of words.
24-06-12
Nature's lines are straighter.
23-06-12
Stayed a day in Reykjavik and walked around checking out this little city. Some nice sights for sure.

23-06-12
Nikita rider Gabby Maiden has been staying at the team house for a while. We stayed thewre a couple of nights and she sung us some sweet tunes.
22-06-12
I went and checked out the offices of Nikita in Reykjavik. I met Heida Birgisdottir, company founder and found her to be very nice!
22-06-12
I'm terrible with names. Esther I think.
22-06-12
There was a real nice vibe in the office, happy people doing something they love. David Loving it in an office full of girls.
22-06-12
Head office? Runar co-founder
22-06-12
Geiri does the international marketing for Nikita. He also does the helping out and looking after of the idiot tourists (us).
Thanks a bunch mate!
21-06-12
Swiss pride. At the Zurich Airport yesterday. I'm spending a couple of weeks in Iceland and the longest day of the year seems like a good time to be up there.
21-06-12
The sights these dudes must see.
21-06-12
Landed at 01.00 am and the sun was just going down, well sorta as it came right back up again.
21-06-12

Last Tuesday was the 3rd birthday for the crew at Henrici. Tito organized a great couple of bands, there was huge bowls of punch and many happy people. Turned out to be an amazing night out. Here is Chimango from Barcelona heating it up.

Everyone had pretty much left by midnight when Chimango grabbed his guitar and played a few more songs outside. Such a trueblue entertainer.

The main reason for the long weekend in San Sebastian was to go to the Surf Film Festibal. My mate Loic Wirth was premiering his first independent film there. I had a small involvement as I narrated the film. I was blown away with the film, absolutely amazing how Loic put it all together. From the concept to all the trips, sound track, editing, marketing, Loic did it all basically on his own. No big crew with 2nd, 3rd cameraman, sound etc. Really proud to be involved and I know many thousands of people worldwide are going to get so much enjoyment form this.
It will be released very shortly worldwide at most surf stores and also on I-Tunes.

It was held in an amazing old cinema right in the middle of the old town.

Loic is a very humble guy and didnt have much to say, just basically "I hope everyone enjoys it"

No blogging for a long while. Normally at this time of the year I am in need of a break from my camera gear after the long season of travel. It coincided with an accident I had on my last snowboard shoot of the season. I landed wrong on a little jump and wrecked my left knee. Result was a sort of dislocation of the knee which snapped the ACL, tore half the MCL, Meniscus tear and when the joint popped out it also broke a chunk of bone off the back of the Tibia. I went through a couple of days of being a bit depressed but soon got out of that and into the recovery process. Basically I'm waiting 8 weeks now for the bone to heal then in July I have an operation scheduled to replace the ACL, fix the Meniscus etc. I'm off the sticks now and walking carefully which is a great feeling.
Last weekend Eve and I flew down to San Sebastian for a long weekend. This I Zurich on the way out.

I drove up to Meiringen the other day. Meiring is the next valley over from Grindlewald in the Berner Oberland. The Swiss Airforce have a base there and I stopped by for a few minutes.

The planes are in bunkers deep in the mountain. They taxi out pretty much from right under the waterfall in the background. Then the barriers come down and they take off. You can see in the background the cars waiting. Once the jets have taken off the barriers go up and the traffic can go again. First airforce base I've ever seen that you can drive across the runway.
